The Patent 5 barrel room was previously used as a

The Patent 5 barrel room was previously used as a storage space for the Dominion Express Company, but has been repurposed by Patent 5 as a space to age their whiskey, rums, gins and small batch surprises.

The room's design was inspired by a patent issued in 1879 for "racks for tiering barrels" by Frederick Stitzel. The ageing process in the barrel room is unique as it experiences hot and humid summers and cool and dry winters.
